Separation anxiety!

In a recent post I talked about some of the addictions the Jayne girls have.  One of them was Leahs addiction to her thumb and blankie.  We saw just how addicted to the blankie she is the other day.  Brooke took the blankie and put it in the wash.  It needed it!  Everything probably would have been fine, except Leah saw the blankie leave the normal living area of the house and go into the laundry room.  Brooke even took her out to see her blankie "taking a bath" in the washing machine and then brought her back inside.  The following pictures are what happened next.
This is one unhappy 1 year old.

Its over there, help me get it!
She would probably been find had she not seen the blankie going into a place she could not get to.  She will run around and play for hours without even looking at her blankie normally.  But this forced separation caused her to think that she would never see it again.
Its right through here!
Won't anyone help me?
I just need someone to open the door!
I just need my blankie, she is telling us.  I think she stood at the door crying for quite a while hoping someone would help her.  She did not want any other blankie or any other toy, she just wanted her blankie so she could hold onto it and suck her thumb!
At last.
So after what probably seemed like half a century to her, she got a nice warm, clean blankie back and was able to give it a big hug.  She got right down to business and got that thumb in her mouth too!  Next time it needs washed, we will have to be a little more covert in the operation so that she does not see the blankie disappear.

so cute! There are some good illustrations there to our spiritual life! I love seeing those insights from God through the lives of children. It's so much easier to see when looking on.
love seeing what your family is up to - thanks for sharing!
